SINGAPORE — U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and his Chinese counterpart, Wei Fenghe, met on Tuesday in Cambodia, as the rival powers seek to manage tensions.
A Pentagon readout of the talks said the two discussed “defense relations and regional and global security issues,” with Austin emphasizing “the need to responsibly manage competition and maintain open lines of communication.”
